Subject: Tombstone and tree
Location: The Roselawn Cemetary in Pueblo, Colorado
Media: Ink on sketch pad paper

The name on the tombstone was the actual name on the marker and seemed so odd, or maybe fitting, with the gnarled tree growing and hovering over it protectively.

Note: I'm going through a bunch of my REALLY old stuff (the date on the pic should give you a hint as to HOW old) and scanning it in (and shredding an enormous amount of just complete and total trash that I have no idea why I kept for all these years) and I'll post some of it here. I may move a lot of it to the scraps folder so don't freak out too much.

The detail on this picture is AMAZING! When did you do this because I can't see any such date on this?

Root's a cool name. I wounder who he was and why his mum and dad called him that.

Root was the family name and this was a marker for a family plot (I'm pretty sure) because the smaller stones nearby were also things like James Root and such.

I did this in 1995. :)
